Updates - April 3, 2015

Sharing some information from Principal Iwase:

a)  We received news that Hui `O Na Wahine will be presenting our school with a check for $6,000 for our grant requests and an additional $2,000 for the Hale Kula PTO!  The $6,000 represents our request to assist with a number of hands-on projects (Maker Space, ipus, Robotics, drama) as well as literature sets for grade 4, school planners, and Transition Center materials.  MAHALO to Hui `O Na Wahine for their generosity in supporting Hale Kula!

b)  Don't forget that we have a Remind account if you want updated texts from the school.  It's easy to sign up.  Click on the link to get the information. https://www.scribd.com/doc/258551495/Remind-Notification

c)  It has come to my attention that some parents used inappropriate language last week to our construction workers.  It was especially inappropriate because there were young children around.  At Hale Kula, one of our Tribes agreements is "Mutual Respect" and we expect all those on campus to treat others the way we would like to be treated.  If you have a problem or concern that needs to be addressed, just let me know or leave a message.  We are here to ensure the health and safety of our students.  We hope that the parental concerns were addressed by cutting a path in the grass. Please understand that the contractors are doing the best they can to get the job completed in the time frame and with minimal distractions.  It sets a poor example for our students when our parents treat these workers with disrespect.

Thank you,
Mrs. Iwase
Principal
