Sat. Jan. 23 Wahiawa Lions collect used eyeglasses from 10am – 2pm at the Wahiawa Longs Drugs in order to clean and distribute them to needy countries. Call Jack Kampfer at 621-0852

Sat. Jan. 23         Mini Chess tournament at Kapolei Public Library noon – 1pm is registration and 1pm- 4pm tourney. FREE. Hawaii Chess Federation hosts a mini tournament in 15 – 20 minute rounds with boards and pieces provided. Age 12 and up welcome. 693-7020

Waipahu HS students developed an app called "My Future" & won the state's Verizon Innovate App Challenge.  Info here
They are now competing for a "fan favorite award."

Sat. Jan. 16 Waialua Library Book sale from 9am – 2pm (happens every 3rd Saturday of the month) 637-8286

Sat. Jan. 16 Adventure Hike with Outdoor Recreation from 8:30am – 12:30pm.  Hikes are offered for varying degrees of skill. Cost is $20 per person. Outdoor Rec. will provide the transportation, equipment and instruction. Bring water, snacks and sunscreen. Sign up at Outdoor Rec. on Schofield no later than noon on Jan. 15 or call 655-9046

Mon. Jan. 18 MLK Day Parade in Waikiki starts at 9am at Ala Moana Park. They expect 2000 marchers, 100 vehicles, 20 floats, 6 bands that will move along Kalakaua Avenue to Monsarrat Ave and end at the Waikiki Shell. Call 384-4038

Welcome back to the 2nd half of the year


Auditions for Hale Kula’s Spring Production of two 1 act shows will be held Mon. Jan. 11  & Tues. Jan. 12 from 2:30pm – 4:30pm. Interested students must pick up permission form from Mr. Merriam (AKA the director) in D1 or in the front office. Must bring signed permission sheet in order to audition. Performance date will be March 11.
