Summer Update

We hope all of you are enjoying your summer break!  We've been very busy at school, getting ready for the big move to the new administration building.  There's still work to be done, but we should start moving on July 21.  Yeah!  Meanwhile, lots of work continues and will continue throughout the next couple of years. We have a blog  You can sign up to receive periodic updates.

This past May, we had a lot of families PCS, a normal occurrence for our military-impacted school.  If a new family has moved into your area, please let them know that our office is open for new registrations.  They can get information about our school by checking our website at  Information on registration requirements can be found on the Department of Education's web site under "Enrolling in School."  Since we will be busy moving offices during the week of July 21, it would really be better for them to come earlier rather than later.  Normally, the office is packed with families registering their children during the week preceding the start of school.

A few dates to remember:

  • July 29 @3:00 - New Family Orientation in the cafeteria
  • July 30 @4:00 - Class lists posted on the cafeteria window (a great time to meet new families and to sign up to get involved at Hale Kula)
  • July 31 from 1:30-2:30 - Meet and Greet, an opportunity to drop off school supplies and meet your child's teacher
  • August 1 - School begins for preschool and grades 1-5; kindergarten testing begins
  • August 6 @4:00 - Kindergarten class lists posted on the cafeteria window
  • August 7 @ 8:15 - Kindergarten orientation
  • August 8 - Kindergarten begins - Group A only
  • August 11 - Kindergarten begins - Group B only
  • August 15 - HOLIDAY - Statehood Day
  • August 25-29 - Parent/Teacher Conferences - School ends at 12:45 each day
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
