Mon. March 30     Bullying Prevention and Intervention Workshop: Realistic Strategies for Parents at Oahu veteran’s center 1298 Kukila street in Honolulu from 5:30pm – 8:00pm. Dinner will be provided.  Parents will learn about the types of behavior that constitute bullying perpetration and victimization, and learn how to notice when youth are engaged in these behaviors. Space is limited, so please RSVP to Nicole Bell at 808-733-9815

PTO Nomination Slate

"Bus payment for Quarter 4 is due for students who pay quarterly.  Please bring your payment (exact amount) to the office along with your child's bus pass."

Based on the PTO nomination forms that came home last month, Here is the proposed slate of the PTO Board for the 2015 – 2016 School Year. In 2 weeks voting will begin in P14. Voting period is April 6 – 10. Each family and staff member are encouraged to vote once.  As you can see some people are running unopposed and not every position is filled. However every position must be voted in and we appreciate your participation in the democratic process

We will have follow up election next school year for 1st VP and another unfilled post is Communication Chair. If you are interested, we encourage you to attend the PTO Board Meeting on April 15

Picture Day volunteers
Help during Spring Picture Day and get FREE picture package for 1 of your kids. Are you available to help Tues. March 24 OR Wed. March 25 from 8am – 12 noon? If so, then email Ellen_Petry@notes.k12.hi.us and make sure to include your name and which day is best for you to help.

PTO Art Program
Our Art Teacher had 1 more lesson planned for all classrooms but is now on medical leave.
There are supplies and lesson plans in P14 and we are looking for 1 parent to go to each classroom and share this art lesson with the class. Interested parents should email: halekulapto@gmail.com

"Heroes at Home" Summer Camp at YMCA Camp Erdman.  This opportunity is FREE and open to all military youth (entering grades 6-9) who have experienced or will be experiencing the deployment of a loved one.  This camp is funded through a partnership of the DoD, OSD, Military Community & Family Policy, Office of Family Policy/Child and Youth and USDA/NIFA under Kansas State University.  YMCA Camp Erdman received this special funding to facilitate this 3rd annual Heroes at Home summer camp made special for middle-school-aged military youth affected by deployment.
Spots for this camp fill up quickly, so please encourage any interested families to register soon!

Game booths and prizes, face painting, bounce houses, bike rodeo (bring your bike and safety gear) obstacle course, keiki ID’s. March 17     Child, Youth and School Services (CYS Services) will be conducting their Quarterly Family Advisory Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 17 at the Schofield Barracks Youth Center ( Bldg 9090, 2251 McMahon Road).  From 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m., there will be a Teen Conflict Management and Bullying Workshop which will be followed by the Family Advisory Board Meeting from 6:15 p.m.-7:15 p.m. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet the CYS Services Coordinator and Administrators as well as share ideas and discuss current CYS Services events.
