Safety Notice

Parents, please be aware that several drivers were ticketed today in front of our school.  Please do the right thing and drive safely and carefully. We do not want anyone getting hurt.

Also, please be aware of the "No Parking" signs lining the street in front of the school. That is a sidewalk, and we should not be parking on the sidewalk.  Today, a child fell because there was no room for him with the cars blocking the way.

We do allow cars to come through the parking lot after the buses leave between 2:15 and 2:20. It is easy to drive through, pick up your waiting children, and drive out. This is a better option than parking on a sidewalk.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Calling All Math Busters!

We are excited to announce an upcoming school-wide math program to review and reinforce basic math facts.  For the month of November, all Hale Kula families are encouraged to practice math facts for at least 15 minutes a day.  Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be working on their addition facts, while 3rd through 5th will focus on multiplication facts.  Each child will keep a record of the number of minutes they practice their facts on their Math Minutes Chart.  Students will be practicing their facts in class daily and taking weekly speed drills to monitor their progress.  During the first week of December, each class will hold a Fact Buster Challenge, and the top two students will be invited to participate in  school-wide Fact Fluency Bees!

ACS offers CPR / First aid training for teens ages 13 – 18 that have successfully completed the babysitting class.. Classes are part 1 Nov. 19 from 4pm – 7pm and part 2 is Nov. 26 from 4pm – 7pm. Registration for the class must be done in-person at Schofield Barracks Parent Central Services at 241 Hewitt St. Building 1283 phone 808-655-5314.
