12/4 - 12/12

Hour of Code Family Event!  December 10, 5:00 - 7:00 pm

Students and parents will code together in a variety of platforms and on a variety of devices. Parents will learn about kid-friendly computer programming resources.  Code Star Wars & Minecraft games.  Code robots to zoom across the room.  Learn about the Hale Kula Robotics Team uses coding in competitions and how Mason, a Hale Kula 5th grader, codes games for us to play & remix in Scratch.  Food can be purchased from Tin Hut BBQ and students can compete in Hawaii Game Truck's tournament ($5) or play inside the game truck ($3).


If you will be PCSing or changing schools during the break please contact the office as soon as possible.  This is so we can have a release packet ready to take with you on your last day.

Hale Kula Calendar

Fri. Dec. 4          Kindergarten parents with their children will be decorating gingerbread houses in the cafe from 12:45 – 2:10

PTO Holiday Family Night in the cafe from 5pm – 7pm – pizza chips & drink for $3.00
All other crafts, caroling, cakewalk, holiday activities & hot chocolate are free.
Pictures have cost.
1st option is buddy pictures which will be included in the yearbook. Gather your friends and cost is $1.00 per person in picture.
2nd option is pictures with Santa. Every child can sit on Santa’s lap and talk and get candy cane. If you want printed picture taken by our expert photographer delivered to classroom next week, then cost is $1.00. If you want to take picture on your phone, no cost.

5th Grade field trip to Symphony
Copy Training 9:30 – 10:30. Meet in PCNC office – No kids

Tues. Dec. 8        Spirit Week – Team Tuesday – Rep your favorite sport or team
JPO & Student Council walking field trip to Bowling Ally back for lunch
Chaperone Training in PCNC corner of front office from 1:30pm – 2:00pm

Wed. Dec. 9        Spirit Week – Wacky Wednesday – mismatch clothes and or crazy hair
Thurs. Dec. 10      Spirit Week – Twinning Thursday – match clothes with a friend
Money due for Popcorn Friday at 8am in the main office.

Hour of Code family event from 5pm – 7pm. Food Truck and Game truck

Fri. Dec. 11          Spirit Week – Aloha Friday – red, white blue or aloha print
2nd Grade (B1, B2, B3, B4 & I4) field trip to Hawaii Plantation Village

Community Events

Fri. Dec. 4   Wahiawa Santa Claus Parade starts at 6:30pm at Ka’ala Elementary, moving up California Ave. to Center Street. Santa will visit with keiki at parades end in Longs Parking Lot. Afterward Pumehana performs and Xtreme Fun Rides and giveaways in Longs parking lot. Call 348-2238

Sat. Dec. 5  Mililani Holiday Parade begins at 9am at Mililani Town Center and ends about 10:30am at Mililani Shopping center with free activities until 1:30pm at both venues. MSC also plans a snow play zone with 8 tons of “Hawaiian Snow” call 521-2611

Sat. Dec. 5  Kapolei Holiday Fair at Kapolei High School from 8am – 1pm Free. Check out craft vendors and community groups plus a recycling drive, Christmas tree sale, breakfast with Santa and more. khsholidayfair@gmail.com

Sun. Dec. 6  Hawaii Polo Club at Mokuleia Polo Field 2pm. $12 - $25. Bring a toy and get half-off admission at Polo’s annual fundraiser for Operation Toy Box. info@hawaii-polo.org

Dec. 8     Christmas Tree lighting at Generals Loop Field. Festivities and Santa visit for the whole family fun at twilight

Dec. 9, 16   Wahiawa Botanical Garden offers lessons in making a Christmas centerpiece from natural materials at 11 am. Fee is $5. per centerpiece. Sign up at 522-7066

Dec. 11 & 18 Wahiawa Botanical Garden offers a workshop on making succulent wreaths from natural materials at 10am. Bring gloves and clippers. Fee is $20. Sign up at 522-7066
