Your Feedback is Important!
The
School Community Council has requested your feedback on an important survey to
improve teaching and learning at Hale Kula.
The survey is on-line at surveymonkey.com. We announced this survey over a month ago,
and to date, we have had a poor response rate.
We are extending the date for parent input to May 24. Please go to the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K8VSLC6 to complete
the survey. It doesn’t take long, and
your response will help us to make decisions to improve our school.
Also,
the School Community Council is looking for 2 parent representatives. We had no one volunteer when we asked
previously. If you are interested in
serving on the SCC to provide input regarding our Academic and Financial Plan,
please email Principal Jan Iwase at jan_iwase@notes.k12.hi.us. Thank you!

oops
Who noticed the mistake? What a difference 1 word makes. It should have said "No school store on Friday" But I left out the word 'store'. Yes, there is school on Friday and it ends at 1:30. I was trying to say that the PTO will not have their school store open on the last day of the year. Sorry for any confusion, I will blame it on being tired after Water Play Day.
I would like to thank all the great volunteers that helped make Water Play Day a success. Our military partner the 25th HHBN provided 20 great soldiers and I think they had as much fun as the kids. Our parent volunteers were a big help escorting students around. Your generous donation of water bottles was very appreciated. And a special shout out to those that filled water balloons as home. Mahalo.
P.S. School ends at 2:10 on Wednesday

We hope you plan on joining us on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. at the field in front of the school. This is our May Day celebration held every other school year. Here's the link to the breakfast and lunch menu for May.

Also, please make sure your child has money in his/her meal account. Your child's time to eat is shortened when he/she has to take a slip to the office to call parents when your child is short of money for lunch. If in doubt, it's best to send money with your child. Place the money in an envelope, seal it, and make sure your child's name is on the envelope.
Thank you for your cooperation with this issue. Please remember that your child will not be able to join in the fun for water play day, class parties, or other end-of-the-year activities if he/she owes money for lunch or for a lost or damaged book. (A Department policy states that students may have no outstanding obligations in order to participate in these types of activities.)
Please ensure that your child will be able to participate by clearing up all of his/her financial obligations.
