We'd love to have you join us for a Virtual School Community Meeting on Monday, February 25 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. We'll be getting feedback on our Academic Plan for SY 2013-2014 to improve teaching and learning at Hale Kula. We have a unique clientele, and most of our families have school experiences from elsewhere. You may have a suggestion of something that worked at another school which could be implemented at Hale Kula. Now's your time to give your input!
Go to https://www.facebook.com/halekula.eagles and click on "Hale Kula School Community Town Hall Meeting." You don't have to be a member of the FB page to join in the conversation or to read the comments. This is a good time to join, though! We post lots of updates and photos about school events on this FB page. It's a good way to find out what's happening at school!
Hope to see you virtually at the meeting on Monday!
Stay up-to-date about what's happening at Hale Kula Elementary School. Be sure to add your email address below and click submit.

Updates
1) The fifth grade Science and Engineering Fair has been moved to Friday, February 22 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. due to a conflict with the Wheeler Middle School Informational Meeting for incoming sixth graders and their families. Student projects will be displayed in their classrooms (A-building and P-17) or in the library (B1 and F4A). We encourage you to attend and ask questions of our students. Two projects from each classroom will be selected by the judges to continue to the Complex Area Science and Engineering Fair at Wahiawa Elementary School on May 7. Winners will be announced on Monday, February 25 during the fifth grade lunch period. Good luck to all the participants!
2) If you are interested in learning more about the Blended Learning program at Hale Kula and your child is presently in grade 3 or 4, please attend the meeting on Wednesday, February 27 at 1:00 in the library. If you attended the first meeting in January and intend to enroll your child, please go to the Hale Kula website, click on "Blended Learning," and look for the application form. Please complete the application and return it to school as soon as possible. We are date-stamping the applications, and if we have more applicants than spots available, priority will be based on the date and time the form was returned to the school office.
3) Modeled after the USAG Hawaii Facebook Town Hall meetings, we are hosting our first virtual School Community Meeting. This is your opportunity to ask questions or provide suggestions on how to improve teaching and learning at Hale Kula. Directions are available on the flyer:

Eagle Eye Award
Our counselors have started up the Eagle Eye Award to recognize students who demonstrate outstanding deeds, great behavior, or good actions in school. These are students who follow the GLO's and the Tribes agreements. We started a blog so we could share these students and their positive actions. As students are added to the list, we will post their names on the blog. These students receive an Eagle Eye certificate and a $1 PTO gift certificate to be used at the PTO school store. We also have a bulletin board in the cafeteria where these students will be recognized. Congratulations to our first Eagle Eye awardees for the school year!
