Waiting Before and After School
  • Wait in main hallways until the school bell rings
  • Supervised areas in the morning are near C and F buildings
  • Do not wait in front of or behind classrooms or in O building
    • We want to respect both student and teacher learning spaces
Pink DKIES Digest (parent newsletter) came home in Wednesday folder.  Update your Chaperone Training by turning in bottom of ‘Get Connected’ page.  Also indicate if you would like to continue to receive paper copies of the Digest.  If you do not turn in bottom of that pink paper then you will not have paper copy in September, Newsletter is available on the website and will have reminder in highlights when it is available.


Do you knit?
We invite any knitters out there to contribute to a project for our new library.  You can download the free pattern from Ravelry via this link:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bunting-party-flags Mrs.Colte is a knitting newbie & after trial & error, she figured this out.  It's easy-peasy & a great way to use up remnants of yarn.  Only requirement?  Bright colors!  Knit one triangle or many & sign up here to indicate your interest!  We'll have a knitting meet-up.  (Link to sign up:  https://goo.gl/XFmEIA


WANTED - Volunteer Musicians for Musical Mondays during lunch
10:30 am set up (or earlier as needed)
10:45 - 12:15 play during lunch
Do you play an instrument?  Are you able to share your gift of music with our students during lunch?  We are looking for 10 performers, or small groups of performers, to entertain our students with various kinds of music during lunch.  If you are willing and interested, please contact the Vice-Principal to select a date and ask any questions that you have.  
We are so thrilled to bring this experience to our children!. Dates are September 12, October 3, November 7, December 5, January 23, February 6, March 6, April 3, May 1


School Happenings

Fri. August 5             Kindergarten Parent Orientation – 8am – 9am in each teachers classroom. Please only parents, no kids. There will be a Powerpoint presentation, answer questions, fill out forms, and sort your child's supplies.  Please label ALL school supplies (down to each crayon!)  


Mon. Aug. 8              School starts at 7:55 every day – Be in class ready to learn

Tues. Aug. 9              Chaperone Training in PCNC corner of front office from 1:30 – 2:00
                                    3rd Grade Field Trip to Honolulu Theatre for Youth

Wed. Aug. 10            School is out at 1:10 every Wednesday

Thurs. Aug. 11         Copy Training in PCNC corner of front office from 8am – 9am or so – no kids

Fri. Aug. 12               Chaperone Training in PCNC Corner of front office 8am – 8:30
                                    PTO General Membership Meeting 5:30 – 6:30 in the cafeteria

Sat. Aug. 6  Keiki Fun Fair at Wahiawa District Park from 10am – 1pm. Free food, drinks, bouncers, prayer tent and music from Samoan Gospel Herald, Ron Artis II, Bruddah Waltah, a blues band and more. Call 694-0103

Sat. Aug. 6  Halawa Xeriscape Garden Open House and Unthirsty Plant Sale. 9am – 3pm at 99-1268 Iwaena Street.
